Do you know that expression: “the writing (or handwriting) on the wall?” It is a presentiment (presage) of impending danger/misfortune. I think it has a biblical origin (some disembodied hand inscribing mysterious writings on the wall and Daniel interpreted it as the falling of a king and his kingdom). But more to the point here, I see the lonely urban figure reflecting what Simon and Garfunkel sang about in the Sound of Silence:
" And the people bowed and prayed/
To the neon god they made/
And the sign flashed out its warning/
In the words that it was forming/
And the sign said, "The words of the prophets are written on the subway walls
And tenement halls."/
And whisper'd in the sounds of silence....."

Neda, do you remember "the shouts of silence", the film of André Téchiné, so moving also?
anyway, I think ours present tagged walls seems other "mur des lamentations": people write their joys, combs and pains at them, and try to share their urban loneless, the loneless in the middle of other's multitude. we could not exist without any type of comunication...

Lukre, ya lo creo que existe la identidad grupal... y si no, mira la Castellana como está!!

We are continously seeking for our own identity, and art is a very good expression of this search, as if a mirror we would like other people to cross and see those people transformed in the other part of this mirror
